brush size doesnt tend to matter because it varies on the size of your canvas/how big your subject is :)

Happy to help! Hair and skin were my two biggest frustrations when I first started out. I could never get them to look how I wanted to, but now they're both some of the funnest parts to paint for me! It gets easier with time and practice :)

Hahah yeah, those days where you have the urge to throw your tablet out a window are tough XD But taking things one day at a time helps. Didnt do great today? Try again tomorrow. The more you try, the better you become over time :)

Psst, one question: How would you color dyed hair?
Reply
:iconstarshipsorceress:
StarshipSorceress Featured By Owner May 22, 2014
Hmm, could you be more specific? Are you talking about a certain dyed color that looks unatural, or like a gradient dip dye, or..?

For this tutorial I used this brush: fav.me/d5s8wpu
But I have another brush that works well for hair as well: fav.me/d66dbke

Just depends on your preference (:

Really helpful tutorial, especially with the palettes being there. I have a question though, do you create a new layer for each new colour/highlight? Žu`

:iconstarshipsorceress:
StarshipSorceress Featured By Owner Mar 12, 2014
I personally don't make new layers for each thing, but you can if you want. It really just comes down to personal preference and what you're comfortable with. When I was still a beginner I would often make new layers for things in case I messed up and wanted to restart a step.
